Information about the site and its maintainerThis site was launched as a public website on August 20, 2002. Before that it was nothing more than an online backup archive for my picture collection of a few thousand pictures. It has since grown a bit... On March 26, 2004 I had to close it down completely to everyone except members.On August 10, 2004 it moved to a new and faster server and reopnened to the general public. Its popularity soon exploded and and at the top of its popularity it had 22,000 unique daily visitors downloading an average of 250 pictures each from its now quarter million pictures. This was more than my bandwidth could handle so on October 2, 2004 a membership system was reintroduced restricting the full size pictures to members only. On October 17, 2004 I had a system in place allowing non-members to retrieve something... a severely downgraded preview picture but better than nothing. This was done so that non-members also could enjoy a little bit while keeping the mass-downloading down. Delivering low-quality downgrades makes it much less attractive to greedy leechers. The preview images are visually tagged to avoid confusing them with the real thing, downsized to fit within a 500x500 window and recompressed in a lower quality to conserve bandwidth. The filename is also changed to reflect the change. Files in formats other than JPEG/TIFF are converted to JPEG. The fullsize images are unaltered except to strip all EXIF, COM and IPTC metadata from JPEG/TIFF files.
It lives at the very well connected N|G|D|C (NetGroup DataCenter) in Denmark.
The network interfaces on the server are monitored by  The de-facto standard for Intrusion Detection and Prevention. Your webmaster is the Celebrity Collector, a 30-something sysadmin that has been collecting pictures of female celebrities for more than a decade. Use the contact form to send me a question, request or message. I also hate spam and that's why this site includes a trap for those address-harvesting webspiders which will feed bogus addresses into the spammers' address databases. Don't click on the link - it's just semi-random junk generated by this little utility. All gallery and news pages are generated by custom software written entirely in perl with the use of modules found on CPAN. Automatic duplicate elimination (the most recent duplicate files are skipped when generating the pages) done using the RSA Data Security Inc. MD5 Message Digest algorithm. Dynamic image processing, including thumbnail creation, using the free ImageMagick software package.
This site contains only female celebrities and will never contain anything else - don't bother asking.
Some images may contain nudity which may or may not be legal for you to view. Viewer discretion is advised.

All images collected from newsgroups, websites, ftp-repositories, fserve's on IRC and similar public places and they are thus assumed to be in the public domain (unless otherwise noted). They are used here without permission but not-for-profit and thus fair use. So before complaining about the use of copyrighted materials here you should go read the law, especially Title 17 of United States Code, Section 107: "Fair Use" and similar international law, and accept the concept of fair use.
Filenames are retained if possible unless they conflict with images already in the archive. Recently I've started to prefix nondescript filenames with the name of the primary celebrity pictured and sometimes the event/source from with it came. The original filename is at the end of the new name.
Feel free to grab any picture from here and use it for yourself, but please respect the original copyrights if not used for fair use.
